We are delighted to announce that we are now a Registered Charity! Although, this was never our original intention, thanks to the amazing support and recognition we have received both from our Community and further afield, we needed to ensure we were on a more formal footing, also securing it’s long term future.
So many in our Community are sadly affected by this dreadful disease, we remain committed to working together to try to make life living with Cancer in a remote location less of an extra challenge! Attending our regular gatherings gives you a voice: ‘What do we need on Islay? How should the generous donations be best spent? What would be welcomed to make life a bit easier?
We would like to thank Catherine from Fèis Ìle for kindly looking after our money these last 2 years and Petra Pearce for helping us with the paperwork to get awarded Charity status. We couldn’t have done it without all the help we have received along the way and look forward to further offers of help as we take our next steps too!
